Client:
For more than 12 years, Alta Planning + Design has been busy growing and working to become world-leading designers and consultants for sustainable and alternative transportation solutions for communities and cities. Alta’s work includes pedestrian and bike trails, urban design, greenways, landscape architecture, and engineering practices. Having started with only one small office in the mid 90s, Alta grew consistently to seven offices.
Challenge:
Alta had put having a more functional and content-rich website on the back burner due to their continued growth and heavy workload. The company leaders knew, however, that they needed to create a colorful, search optimized and seamless online illustration of their capabilities. The new site needed an easy-to-use Content Management system to allow it to grow organically as an excellent resource for people and potential clients to view best practices and success stories of projects.
Solution:
The Overland Agency took a strategic view in creating a robust and content-rich web business model for Alta. We started by interviewing company employees, conducting competitor benchmarking, and defining the personas of model users. The site was built on Overland’s powerful .NET framework and Content Management System to enable on-going site management. It also included a simple flash-powered intro, and segregation of numerous service offerings into an understandable homepage directory, complete with examples of real world projects.
Result: Alta planners and designers believe the website serves as a great tool for educating the public and clients, as well as furthering the conversation of the importance of sustainable and greener communities through excellent alternative transportation pathways. The site has made an immediate impact for driving interest and sales leads for the company.
