Synetics Solutions Inc., a Portland-based company that provides services to semiconductor manufacturers has chosen the Overland Agency for its marketing, Web development and public relations services.


Synetics provides custom automation and airflow management systems for the semiconductor industry.


Synetics is a subsidiary of Yaskawa Electric Corp. of Japan, a $2 billion multinational corporation with 10,000 employees worldwide. Synetics was established in June 2000 when Yaskawa acquired the Isolation Technology Group of Huntair Inc. of Tigard.


Portland-based Overland is developing a new online presence and strategy for Synetics, in addition to aligning its brand and positioning.


Founded by Arve Overland in February 2001, Overland has grown to 15 employees. Revenue more than tripled from $480,000 in 2001 to $1.5 million in 2002. Overland told The Business Journal last fall he expected to finish 2003 with $1.8 million in revenue. The agency's other clients include Dolphin Software, Adidas International, Audio Precision, McMenamins, MicroPower Electronics, Pinnacle Bank and Tektronix.
