MAPP Case Study

Client:
Mentor Artists Playwrights Project (MAPP) is a passionate nonprofit arts organization that customizes playwriting workshops for at-risk and Native American youth and provides community presentations of their work. MAPP travels nationally to partner with schools, cultural centers, and tribal groups, producing plays with professional actors.

Challenge:
With a track record of successful programming in California, Oregon, and Idaho, MAPP needed a dynamic website to extend its geographical reach as well as solidify its branding. Resources that would educate administrators—such as program options and fundraising assistance—had to be front and center, yet permit space for information valuable to other audiences. MAPP also wanted to spotlight its intensive process for educating mentors as well as its unique approach to youth writing workshops.

Solution:
As a longtime contributor to youth-focused community nonprofits, Overland was familiar with MAPP’s territory. Overland created a resonant slogan and visual elements to unify the new website. Site content—including case studies and testimonials—effectively speaks to MAPP’s vast audience: administrators, cultural directors, fundraising liaisons, potential mentors and other community participants, as well as parents and students. Content can be easily changed using the custom-built Content Management System, and MAPP can now accept online donations for its operations.

Results:
The new website is an engaging resource that reflects the spirit of its creative work, complete with a photo gallery and student updates. It’s already inspiring and funneling donations from contributors throughout North America.
