Our History (So Far)
The Overland Agency was founded February 2, 2001, by market strategist
and creative director Arve Overland. The first team of two employees
started in a remodeled garage in Southeast Portland. After experiencing
strong growth in our first six years, our interactive advertising
agency now includes 25 employees and occupies the top floor of a historic building in downtown Portland.
Since
our inception, we have worked to become a leading brand marketing and
interactive advertising agency with deep capabilities in web design and
development—what has emerged as Agency 2.0. The key to achieving our
success was in finding the right people and creating an atmosphere
for their success—a culture where creatives, engineers, and
analysts could work and excel together.
The Overland Agency builds brands and result-generating websites, developing brand strategies that incorporate Internet marketing campaigns,
search engine marketing (including organic and paid search strategies),
and e-mail-based permission marketing. We also develop customer relationship and channel partner strategies and
communications as well as consumer and complete e-commerce
solutions. In other words, we are your online integrated marketing
partner—an ad agency, web development shop, and search and brand
specialists wrapped into one.
We have an ongoing commitment to stimulating the agency's and the
community's creative sides. We sponsor cultural events and happenings such as MusicfestNW and contribute to charity events like the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for
Girls. On a more serious note, we are proud to aid Oregon Youth Suicide
Prevention Program to help troubled youth and their
parents, and donate our technical and creative serices to Habitat for Humanity.
