“My aim was to build an easy-to-use website that is unique among home décor and home-art sellers on the Internet, just as our Oregon-based brick-and-mortar galleries stand out from the pack. I chose Overland for their creativity, strategies, organic and paid search capabilities and design and engineering expertise.”
-John McDonnell, CEO of the Dapper Frog
Client: The Dapper Frog provides high-quality art, home décor, and lifestyle products through its Oregon chain of retail galleries and worldwide through its web presence at www.dapperfrog.com. Dapper Frog galleries, founded in 2005, has five brick-and-mortar locations in Oregon.
Challenge: When The Dapper Frog contacted Overland Agency, their website had unacceptably low organic search visibility and visitor-to-sales conversion numbers. The shopping cart had a high drop off rate and too many customers were lost during account set up. The site’s technology framework did not provide upsell or cross-sell functionalities or other dynamic promotional tools. Administration of products, vendors, customers, and orders were cumbersome and lacking in functionalities. In addition, The Dapper Frog was interested in improved shipping and inventory management and access to advanced reporting.
Solution: Using the feature-rich, robust ecommerce module within our .NET framework, including Overland’s proven Content Management System, we created a new website with a clean design which elegantly highlights a vast array of products, and is intuitive and easy-to-navigate. The new search optimized website enables users to search products through several intuitive action paths. The OA Ecommerce Module included all of the features and functionalities The Dapper Frog needed, from dynamic promotional tools to advanced reporting.
Result: The new, colorfully engaging and expanded site contains more than 7,000 different products—from decorative plates and tea ware, to furniture, collectibles, and exquisitely crafted and artist-made home art pieces—ranging in price from $10 to $10,000. Conversion has increased and drop-off has been reduced.
