Client:
Mitchell Lewis & Staver (MLS) has been an Oregon company for over 100 years. Their core business is to help product dealers and individual businesses find better ways to move, manage, and handle liquids and gases through innovative pumping solutions. MLS offers custom engineering and design, a significant product inventory, innovative programming capabilities, and timely installation to build pumping systems that increase efficiency and save our customers energy, water, time, and labor.

Challenge:

Mitchell Lewis Staver (MLS) have had strong growth in the past decade. It shows that the company has been able to innovate and create solutions that meet and exceed your markets’ expectations. There is however some signs that future growth will be limited in two of MLS’ core markets—rural wells and agriculture—due to outside market forces. Continued growth will most likely come from municipalities and industrial solutions. This demands a change of focus for the MLS brand in its marketing approach. Although MLS is a strong western brand in its core markets the complex purchasing process for municipalities and large industries requires sophisticated tactics.

Solution:

MLS needed a website that clearly spoke to all four major customer groups. Our research found that the majority of new relevant traffic would come from search, so the site needed to be search optimized. To establish trust towards the new target growth markets we sought to establish MLS as knowledge leaders of the industry. That their engineers work across agricultural, industrial, municipal, and domestic applications to provide packages that often pay for themselves in a matter of months. We also wanted to load the site with information to aid large governmental organization through the complex purchase process.

Result:

MLS now has a cohesive brand message and an industry-leading website that clearly highlights their expertise for all four target audiences.
